27-year-old Hortonville man arrested after hit-and-run Greenville
GREENVILLE – A 27-year-old Hortonville man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that occurred Tuesday in the village.
According to the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were sent to the scene at 10:25 a.m. near the intersection of State 76 and State 15. One of the vehicles involved in the crash fled northbound of State 76 and later turned onto Outagamie County JJ.
The vehicle was seen parked near North Greenville Elementary School, N2468 Learning Way. That’s when the suspect, Joshua Lee Howard, exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area behind the school. When the school was notified about the situation, it went into lockdown.
Using a drone and police dogs, officers found him by a nearby residence and took Howard into custody at 11:39 a.m. The sheriff’s office said Howard was arrested on multiple charges, which includes one count of failure to notify police of an accident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
