3 PennDOT workers taken to the hospital after multi-vehicle crash in Cumberland County

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) β€” Multiple PennDOT employees were taken to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash in Cumberland County that is causing a lane closure Friday afternoon.

The multi-vehicle crash has the right lane shut down on PA 581 east just past the Trindle Road on-ramp just before 2 p.m., a spokesperson for PennDOT said.

Three PennDOT employees were taken to the hospital to be checked out after a crew cab was involved in a chain-reaction crash that happened when traffic was stopped, the spokesperson said.

Passengers in the other vehicles that were involved had to be pulled from their vehicles and also taken to the hospital.

The spokesperson did not specify the extent of injuries or how many were injured. There was no word on what caused the crash or exactly how many vehicles were involved as well.

The PennDOT truck was totaled from the crash.
