Hannah Berner blasted for ‘sexist’ joke about Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce romance
Taylor Swift fans have bad blood with Hannah Berner.
Swifties shared their displeasure on X after a âwildly inappropriateâ clip went viral of the stand-up comedian poking fun at the pop starâs relationship with Travis Kelce in Netflixâs âTorching 2024: A Roast of the Year.â
The âSummer Houseâ alum, 33, began by calling Luigi Mangione â the 26-year-old who was recently charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson â âso hot right now.â
Berner quipped, âWho knew besides Travis Kelce that you could become so popular with women by shooting loads into a billionaire?â
One social media user called the joke âoutright vileâ for âobjectifyingâ Swift, while another claimed it was âdegrading to Taylor.â
A third wrote, âTravis Kelce just keeps picking up stray bullets at this point.â
Some people, however, came to Bernerâs defense and admitted to laughing at the Bravolebrityâs âpretty cleverâ joke.
âItâs a roast,â one pointed out. âWhat did you expect? G-rated feel good comedy?â
Bernerâs rep has yet to respond to Page Sixâs request for comment.
Last week, Berner sent tongues wagging with a different joke from the same roast â this one calling Blake Lively a âcâtâ amid her and Justin Baldoniâs âIt Ends With Usâ drama.
By the time the special aired, the actress had filed a sexual harassment complaint against her co-star, and she has since sued him.
The âJane the Virginâ alum, notably, plans to âabsolutelyâ file a lawsuit against Lively âsoon,â according to his lawyer.
Berner clarified on Dec. 27 that she filmed her stand-up set before Livelyâs accusations made headlines.
âTo be 100 percent clear, I support Blake xoxo,â the former reality star wrote via Instagram Stories at the time.
Swift and Kelce, both 35, have been the butt of many jokes since the high-profile couple began dating in the summer of 2023.
At the Golden Globes in January 2024, host Jo Koy joked about the pop starâs presence at Kansas City Chiefs games.
âThe big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL?â he said. âAt the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.â
