NFL, college football seasons coming to a vexing finish

It was the Greek god of indigestion, Esophagus, who took a bite then famously asked, β€œWho made this bleep?”

With the closing of the 2024 football season, there is much to consider and consume in both TV-enriched professional leagues β€” the NFL and NCAA.Β

The Close of the NFL Regular Season: Under Roger Goodell, the NFL has placed so many anticipated β€œgood games” in Sunday late afternoon, Sunday night and weeknight day prime-time slots, plus on late afternoons and family holidays β€” whatever TV, now especially pay-more streaming networks will purchase β€” that the once customer-convenient, best-weather Sunday start time games β€” those that for decades began at 1 p.m. β€” have become the near-exclusive domains for wrecks, dreck and teams relegated to salvage yards.Β

And the NFL often gets the sites of these games weather-blind backward.Β
