The ODOT worker in the truck was clearing snow on the south side berm when the driver of a KIA reportedly went off of the roadway and hit the truck from behind, ending up in a grassy median, OSHP said in a statement.

The driver of the KIA, who OSHP identified as 56-year-old Allen Anderson of Cleveland, was initially taken to University Hospitals Tri-Point Medical Center for treatment from his injuries but was then transferred to Metrohealth Medical Center where he died.

Authorities said they don’t believe alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash. Anderson was not wearing a seatbelt, OSHP said.
