10th-grade Raleigh-Egypt High student dies
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 10th-grade student at Raleigh-Egypt High School died on Monday, according to sources.
The student was identified as Cornelius Perry.
During a Wednesday board meeting, the Memphis Shelby County School Board had a moment of silence in honor of Perry. They said Perry died after collapsing after school.
His cause of death has not been released.
Cornelius’s uncle, D’Angelo Perry, said his nephew’s positive energy was unmatched.
“Man, he was one of the sweetest kids that I’ve ever come across. In my eyes he could do no wrong,” Perry said. “No one is perfect, but he was the ideal child. Good in school, never got in any trouble or anything like that.”

A donation page has been set up to fund Perry’s funeral expenses.
Friday, students, teachers, and staff will gather at Raleigh-Egypt High School for a balloon release for Cornelius.
