1 seriously injured in Okaloosa County crash

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — An Okaloosa County crash has left an older man seriously injured, News 5 has learned.

A tractor-trailer was stopped in the outside emergency lane on Interstate 10 (State Road 8), east of County Road 189, while another tractor-trailer was headed eastbound in the right lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report.

The second tractor-trailer “drifted into the emergency lane and collided into” the stopped tractor-trailer, the crash report said.

A 71-year-old man from Anna, Texas, from the tractor-trailer that reportedly drifted into the emergency lane, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. A 47-year-old man from Crawfordville, Florida, received a minor injury.

“The eastbound lanes were blocked due to vehicles, debris, and emergency vehicle(s) for an extensive amount of time,” the report said.
