Where to buy tickets, best prices, dates
Itâs time to return to âBabylon.â
Starting on Jan. 24, David Gray will launch his international âPast and Present Tourâ with special guest Sierra Spirit thatâll send the pair to venues in the U.S., Canada and his native Great Britain.
Early on in the international jaunt, the 56-year-old singer-songwriter is scheduled to drop into New York Cityâs Beacon Theatre on Tuesday, Jan. 28 and Red Bank, NJâs Count Basie Center on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
The record comes in support of Grayâs recently-released album âDear Life.â
ââThe Past and Present Tour.â whatâs it all about?â he mused on Instagram. âWell, the clues [are] in the title. Itâs gonna be a few songs from the new record each night plus all the big songs, all the hits and each night a different deep dive into a different albumâŚthereâs going to be unexpected covers. Thereâs going to be high energy.â

David Gray new music
On Jan. 17, Gray released his 13th studio album âDear Life.â
For an hour, the gifted singer takes listeners on a sonic adventure. First, he explores jazzy pop in the head-bobbinâ âPlus & Minus,â then dips his toe into intimate folk with âI Saw Loveâ and finally goes full ballad on the gorgeous âSunlight On Water.â
The true standout might be the slick yet emphatic âSinging For The Pharaoh.â Grayâs clearly in his vocal wheelhouse here and sounds just as crisp as he did in his âBabylonâ and âSail Awayâ heyday.
Also, make sure you donât skip the sax-y âFuture Bride.â Itâs a lot of fun and we promise we wonât judge if you bust out an air saxophone. We did.

Sierra Spirit
At all shows, Gray will be joined by the rising singer-songwriter Sierra Spirit.
Spirit, a member of the Otoe-Missouria and Keetoowah Cherokee tribes, released her debut EP âCoin Tossâ in October 2024. Over six tracks, her breathy vocals complement gentle instrumentals and angsty lyrics about love, loss, mental health and struggles of growing up.
Still, more than anything, we canât get enough of her space-y cover of Radioheadâs âCreep.â Her disaffected coo takes the original and breathes new life into the classic. Itâs a find.
If youâd like to give her a spin before seeing Gray live, Spiritâs entire discography can be found here.
