Who will, should win Big Four
The biggest names in music are coming together for a much-needed night of celebration.
As wildfires continue to ravage California, the 2025 Grammy Awards are still on track to honor the releases we couldnât turn off over the past year â live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.
From BeyoncĂ©, who leads the list of nominations with 11, to Sabrina Carpenter, Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish and beyond, Page Six predicts the nomineesâ odds of walking away winners in the prestigious Big Four categories below.
Record of the year
âNow and Thenâ â The Beatles
âTexas Hold âEmâ â BeyoncĂ©
âEspressoâ â Sabrina Carpenter
â360â â Charli XCX
âBirds of a Featherâ â Billie Eilish
âNot Like Usâ â Kendrick Lamar
âGood Luck, Babe!â â Chappell Roan
âFortnightâ â Taylor Swift featuring Post Malone
Will win: âEspressoâ
Should win: âNot Like Usâ
From âHotel Californiaâ and âI Will Always Love Youâ to âRolling in the Deepâ and âUptown Funk,â the Recording Academy loves an inescapable hit â and no song fits the bill more this year than Carpenterâs succulent earworm âEspresso.â
Grammy voters, who are primarily (and notoriously) white men over the age of 40, could throw the Beatles one final bone for their long-lost ballad, but itâs unlikely given its lukewarm reviews, not to mention the inevitable upset.
Really, Lamar deserves the prize for âNot Like Us,â arguably the biggest diss track of all time thatâs still stinging Drake nearly a year on.
Album of the year
âNew Blue Sunâ â AndrĂ© 3000
âCowboy Carterâ â BeyoncĂ©
âShort nâ Sweetâ â Sabrina Carpenter
âBratâ â Charli XCX
âDjesse Vol. 4â â Jacob Collier
âHit Me Hard and Softâ â Billie Eilish
âThe Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princessâ â Chappell Roan
âThe Tortured Poets Departmentâ â Taylor Swift
Will win: âCowboy Carterâ
Should win: âCowboy Carterâ
After losing album of the year four times, BeyoncĂ© â the most-awarded artist in Grammy history â will finally get her flowers for âCowboy Carter,â the only logical choice here.
Yes, âBratâ sparked a movement. Sure, âShort nâ Sweetâ birthed a pop star. Of course, âHit Me Hard and Softâ is a work of art. Duh, âThe Tortured Poets Departmentâ made the Eras Tour even more gargantuan. But Queen Beyâs revolutionary country record was a cultural touchstone unlike any other.
To quote her husband, Jay-Z: âThe most Grammys, never won album of the year. That doesnât work.â
Song of the year
âA Bar Song (Tipsy)â â Sean Cook, Jerrel Jones, Joe Kent, Shaboozey, Nevin Sastry and Mark Williams (Shaboozey)
âBirds of a Featherâ â Billie Eilish and Finneas OâConnell (Billie Eilish)
âDie With a Smileâ â Dernst Emile II, James Fauntleroy, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Andrew Watt (Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars)
âFortnightâ â Jack Antonoff, Post Malone and Taylor Swift (Taylor Swift featuring Post Malone)
âGood Luck, Babe!â â Chappell Roan, Daniel Nigro and Justin Tranter (Chappell Roan)
âNot Like Usâ â Kendrick Lamar (Kendrick Lamar)
âPlease Please Pleaseâ â Amy Allen, Jack Antonoff and Sabrina Carpenter (Sabrina Carpenter)
âTexas Hold âEmâ â Brian Bates, BeyoncĂ©, Elizabeth Lowell Boland, Megan BĂŒlow, Nate Ferraro and Raphael Saadiq (BeyoncĂ©)
Will win: âBirds of a Featherâ
Should win: âBirds of a Featherâ
The songwriting award is always tricky.
âA Bar Song (Tipsy)â was arguably the most untouchable tune of the year, tying Lil Nas Xâs âOld Town Roadâ as the longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 at 19 weeks, but letâs be real: catchiness â lyrical excellence.
And while âNot Like Usâ is the only 2025 nominee to have just one writer, a credit to Lamarâs one-of-a-kind wordplay, âBirds of a Featherâ is all but guaranteed to take home the trophy.
Eilish and her brother have won song of the year at two of the past five Grammy Awards (âBad Guyâ in 2020 and âWhat Was I Made For?â in 2024), so theyâre a clear favorite for the academy â and itâd be a shame not to give âBirds,â their most stunning collaboration yet, its due.
Best new artist
Benson Boone
Sabrina Carpenter
Doechii
Khruangbin
Raye
Chappell Roan
Shaboozey
Teddy Swims
Will win: Chappell Roan
Should win: Sabrina Carpenter
Doechii and Shaboozey are both strong contenders for best new artist, but the former almost feels too new (if thatâs even possible) while the latter really only had one hit under his cowboy belt.
And so, the make-it-or-break-it category is a toss-up between Carpenter, the former Disney starlet whoâs hardly new to the game but worked tirelessly to earn her title as popâs latest âItâ girl, and Roan, the âFemininomenonâ whose fandom grew at a rate we havenât seen since Lady Gagaâs Little Monsters.
Hereâs hoping for a tie?
The 67th annual Grammy Awards air Sunday, Feb. 2, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
