Meghan Markle gives glimpse inside Montecito home as she returns from Invictus Games in Canada
Meghan Markle did not come home from the Invictus Games empty-handed.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, returned home to Montecito, Calif., on Tuesday after spending a few days in Canada with Prince Harry at his Invictus Games.
Taking to her Instagram Story the following day, the āSuitsā alum gave her 1.7 million followers on the platform a peek at the goodies she brought home with her for the pairās two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
The pic also offered a glimpse of the stunning $14 million home she and Harry bought and moved into in 2020.
āA taste of Canada and The Invictus Games for our little ones!ā the mom of two captioned the snap. āCheering you on from home!ā
Markle laid out all the souvenirs on her kitchen counter, which included some fun gifts for the pairās children.
Among those were chocolate treats that featured the Invictus Games logo, as well as some sweet treats from Canadian chain Tim Hortons.
The coupleās kids also received custom jerseys from Team Nigeria, each of which featured their names promptly written on the back.
The shirts were gifted to the Sussexes during a wheelchair basketball eventĀ in Vancouver on Sunday.
āWe did one for him and one for M and for the kids,ā team manager Derrick Cobbinah told People. āThey said they would be excited to have them. She was very, very excited.ā
Just days earlier, Markle took the stage at the Invictus Gamesā welcome reception andĀ gushed over her husbandāsĀ dedication to the sporting event.
āWith families⦠the big rush in the morning and getting ready for school and packing the lunchboxes and making breakfast and my husband is in all of that with all of us,ā she began. āAnd then heāll be on his phone, and Archie will say, āPapa, why are you on your phone?ā and heās like, āBecause itās Invictus, Iām getting ready for Invictus.āā
āIt means so much to him,ā she continued. āYou are his family, just as we are his family. And I hope you recognize how much of his heart he has poured into every single beat that has gotten all of you to this week that is going to be spectacular.ā
She also introduced Harry as āthe father of our very sweet, excited children who are cheering you on from California, Prince Harry, founder of the Invictus Games, the Duke of Sussex.ā
Harry, for his part, will stay put in Vancouver and Whistler for the remainder of the Games, which run through Feb. 16.
The former working royal created the international sporting event that celebrates wounded, injured and sick service members and veteransĀ in 2014 and is also the patron of the Invictus Games Foundation.
