The NHL is failing the Rangers-Islanders rivalry

The Islanders made their debut in the building in Elmont at Belmont Park on Nov. 19, 2021, about six weeks into the 2021-22 season. The Rangers made their first visit to the shiny, new place called UBS five days later.

On Tuesday, more than two-thirds through 2024-25, the Rangers returned to the Island for the fourth time since that initial meeting.

For the math-challenged, that made for five trips in total to UBS.
