Sharon Stone, 66, jokes about aging and loving her body

At age 66, Sharon Stone’s comfortable with the skin she’s in.

“A lot of people give up as they get older,” the “Basic Instinct” star told the Times in an interview published Sunday.

“They let go of their body because it’s collapsing anyway, or it’s like, ‘I’m not defined by my body anymore.’ But you still have to love that body.”

Stone joked that as she’s aged, her “underarms have pleats now.”

“I think, ‘Well, I had beautiful arms and now they’re strong and painting [she is an artist] and like angel wings.’ So what if they have pleats? Maybe that’s what makes them wonderful now,” the Emmy and Golden Globe winner said.

Stone added that she once received some lightheaded advice from late novelist and actress Jackie Collins: “After 40, never get on top and never wave goodbye.”

The ’90s sex symbol has previously opened up about aging, and called out “stupid and ungrateful” people who are afraid of getting older during an interview with the same outlet in January 2024.

“I like being alive and healthy. And I think that we should all be super-thrilled to make it. Because I’ve witnessed any number of people not making it,” she said at the time.

The “Casino” star’s confidence shines through her social media posts; she often shows off her fit figure in swimsuits and lingerie, and said in 2022 that she no longer uses Botox (and was even dumped by a younger man for her anti-injectables stance).

Elsewhere in her new Times interview, Stone revealed that she keeps her infamous white “Basic Instinct” dress locked in a safe and is a “cashmere-aholic” who’s amassed a collection of 65 cashmere sweaters over the course of four decades.

She also said he has no fashion regrets — “because I have a sense of humor.”

“Frankly, sometimes I wore things just to be funny,” she said.
