The tallest and priciest home in Queens is off the market
This Queens penthouse reigns supreme, and one lucky renter has claimed it as their throne.
The tallest and most expensive rental residence in the borough entered contract on Thursday, according to a listing update. The Long Island City penthouse is located on the 67th floor of Skyline Tower in Hunter’s Point. Penthouse 406 boasts top-of-the-line amenities — and, given its height, panoramic views in many directions.
As far as luxury sky-high penthouses go, this one at 3 Court Square didn’t spend terribly long on the market. The condo was initially listed for $12,500 a month in November. The unit was delisted in early January and popped back up as an $11,500-a-month listing less than two weeks later following a brokerage swap, still cementing its place as the highest-priced rental in Queens. The final price for the deal is not known; unlike sales, final lease deals are not made public.
Skyline Tower immediately claimed two major superlatives when it opened its doors in 2019. Not only is the 67-story tower the tallest residential building in Queens, it’s also the second tallest building in all of Long Island.
If the contract is signed, it marks a new record for Skyline Tower, beating out an $11,000-per-month penthouse rented there in October.
The 1,547-square-foot space includes four bedrooms and three bathrooms — two of which are ensuite. Wraparound, floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping skyline views of New York City across the East River.
It soars 778 feet above the borough.
Michael Chadwick of Corcoran, the listing representative, previously called the unit “the crown jewel of the Skyline Tower Condominium.”
The tower offers residents 24/7 doorman and concierge services, a community play area, a roof deck, a game room, a pet spa and a 75-foot-pool and much more. The best part? It’s one subway stop from Manhattan — useful for the office types who now have to go to their desks at least several days per week.
Unfortunately for Skyline Tower, the 802-unit building will not carry the crown of Queen’s tallest residential edifice for much longer. An 823-foot tower is under construction in Long Island City; The Orchard, BLDG Development’s latest project, is set to begin leasing next year.
