Adams County Winery voted Pennsylvania Winery of the Year: 2024 Pa. Wine Invitational

Adams County Winery was named Pennsylvania Winery of the Year, an accolade that recognizes winemaking across the state.

Founded in 1975, Adams County Winery, based in Ortanna, is one of Pennsylvania’s oldest wineries and received several awards at the 2024 Pennsylvania Wine Invitational hosted by Libation magazine, a leading wine and spirits publication, a news release read.

Adams County Winery was named Pennsylvania Winery of the Year, an accolade that recognizes winemaking across the state.

There, Adams County Winery won multiple prestigious awards including:

  • Double Gold – Best in Class, Native American and Hybrid Wines: 2023 Vintage Roots

  • Gold Medal Winner: 2023 Harvest Blend – Vintners Reserve

  • Gold Medal Winner: 2023 Vintage Roots

  • Silver Medal Winner: 2023 Tears of Gettysburg

  • Silver Medal Winner: 2023 Stray Cat Strut

“We are humbled and honored to receive these awards,” said Dan Baumgardner, general manager at Adams County Winery. “These recognitions reflect the dedication of our entire team, and we are thrilled to have our quality wines recognized.”

The Adams County Winery farm sits on over 75 acres of rolling hills and operates out of an 1860s registered historic PA bank barn. Its wine Tears of Gettysburg was first bottled at the winery in 1988, and it remains one of their most popular wines, to this day, as well as one of the oldest continually made wines in Pennsylvania.
