A West Palm Beach woman has won $1 million from a $20 scratch-off ticket.

TALLAHASSEE β€” A West Palm Beach woman has won $1 million in a Florida Lottery scratch-off game, officials said Friday.

Judith Carter, 57, claimed the prize from her winning numbers on a $20 Gold Rush Legacy ticket. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump-sum payment of $640,000, Florida Lottery officials said.

Carter bought her ticket at the Publix grocery at 828 Southern Blvd. in West Palm Beach. The store received a $2,000 commission from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

Gold Rush Legacy, which launched in April, features four top prizes of $10 million and 20 prizes of $1 million. This game also features more than $894 million in total cash prizes.

Scratch-off games account for 74% of the Lottery’s annual sales, the agency said.
