Alec Baldwin’s TLC Reality Show Trailer Puts ‘Rust’ Shooting Front And Center: “We’re Trying To Parent Through It”
Move over, Kardashians. The Baldwins have arrived.
TLC dropped the trailer for Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin‘s new reality series, which according to the network’s press release, “offers an intimate, behind-the-scenes look” into the lives of the couple and their seven children, who range in age from two to 11.
Other than teasing the hustle and bustle of a large family like theirs, the trailer also sheds light on how they have navigated Alec’s involuntary manslaughter charge after his gun discharged on the set of Rust, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
“A son lost his mom in the most unthinkable tragedy,” Hilaria says in the trailer. “This is never something to forget, and we’re trying to parent through it.”
Viewers also see Alec become emotional on camera.
In the midst of his trial, which ended in his charge being dismissed by New Mexico Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer, a TLC source had told the New York Post in July that the Baldwins had signed on to do the show “while Alec was already dealing with his legal issues.”
“Everyone knew then — and knows now — that the trial could be part of the storyline. The show will still premiere in 2025,” they added at the time.
The Associated Press reports that on Jan. 9, Baldwin filed a civil lawsuit accusing the prosecutors and investigators of malicious prosecution. According to his civil complaint (via People), he is suing them for “malicious abuse of process, intentional spoliation of evidence, defamation, and violation of the New Mexico Civil Rights Act.”
Alec had told Kelly Ripa on her Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast in 2023 that he and Hilaria had “thought a lot” about launching a reality show preceding their initial announcement confirming the series in June 2024.
The Baldwins premieres Feb. 23 at 10/9 c on TLC. Check out the trailer above.
