Asian company orders more Boeing 737 MAX planes
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Japan Airlines is ordering 17 more Boeing 737-8 planes, the aircraft maker announced. It follows the announcement of 21 orders of the same plane two years ago.
Japan Airlines says the 38 planes will replace the Boeing 737-800 aircraft serving domestic routes.
“We value our long-standing partnership with Japan Airlines and are honored by their decision to double down on the 737 MAX for the airline’s fleet modernization program,” said Brad McMullen, Boeing senior vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing. “By selecting the 737-8, Japan Airlines will gain operational and economic efficiencies, positioning them for success in the years ahead.”

Japan Airlines expected the planes to be delivered by the end of the fiscal year 2026. The new planes will provide customers with LED lighting, larger windows and spacious bins.
