Where to buy tickets, schedule
Punxsutawney Phil isnât the only âGroundhog Dayâ star rearing their head this winter.
On Jan. 29, Bill Murray will resume his recently-extended 2025 tour with his bluesy backing band The Blood Brothers led by Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia.
Along the way, the deadpan 74-year-old comic actor will make a pair of New York stops.
First up, Murray and co. are slated to swing into Port Chesterâs Capitol Theatre on Friday, Feb. 14. The following night, heâll headline New York Cityâs Sony Hall.
Then, on Feb. 16, heâll likely take part in âSaturday Night Liveâsâ 50th season celebration.
For those curious about what exactly a live Bill Murray show looks like, a bit of research revealed to us that he puts raucous spins on timeless classic rock favorites from yesteryear like Bob Dylanâs âLike A Rolling Stone,â Neil Youngâs âRockinâ In The Free Worldâ The Rolling Stonesâ âGimme Shelterâ all while delivering his trademark smirking banter.
As of now, tickets are available for all 13 upcoming shows including his pair of gigs at San Franciscoâs Sketchfest on Jan. 29-30.
Other notable acts joining him at the multi-week NorCal comedy fest include legends like Albert Brooks, Tim Curry and Ana Gasteyer.

Bill Murray upcoming projects
As of now, the workhorse actor has six projects set for release in the near future. To make sure youâre up to speed, hereâs whatâs up next for Murray, courtesy of IMDb.
âThe Ploughmenâ tells the story of a strange friendship between a haunted young deputy sheriff and a notorious old murderer that turns both their worlds upside down. Nick Nolte and Amy Madigan co-star.
âBeing Mortalâ may never be finished; Murray was accused of harassment on set. In any event, the film is comedian Aziz Ansariâs feature directorial debut and based on the book âBeing Mortal: Medicine and What Matters In The End.â Seth Rogen and Keke Palmer were also in the cast.
âThe Springsâ is a comedy about a retired detective (Murray) who turns his sleuthing skills to a retirement home after his brother is found dead there.
âThe Phoenician Schemeâ will be the latest Wes Anderson feature. This dark tale of espionage follows a strained father-daughter relationship within a family business. Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benicio Del Toro and Michael Cera round out the impressive ensemble.
âRiff Raffâ has already done the festival rounds and should hit theaters or streaming in early 2025. The picture takes a look at a former criminalâs ordinary life, which is turned upside down when his old family shows up for a long-awaited reunion. Jennifer Coolidge, Ed Harris, Gabrielle Union and Pete Davidson also appear.
âThe Friendâ follows a writer who adopts a Great Dane that belonged to a late friend and mentor. Naomi Watts, Constance Wu, Ann Dowd and Carla Gugino are the other major names to look out for here.
Bill Murray controversy
Murray, who became famous for his fun-loving demeanor and party crashing in the 2010s, allegedly went too far on the set of Ansariâs unreleased film âBeing Mortalâ and âkissed and straddled a younger female production staffer on setâ according to Puck.
Entertainment Weekly said âthe woman, who was âhorrifiedâ at the incident, reportedly filed a complaint.â
Soon after, Murray called the interaction a âmiscommunicationâ and paid the victim âjust north of $100,000â in a settlement, Puck reported.
âI did something I thought was funny, and it wasnât taken that way,â Murray told CNBC. âThe company, the movie studio, wanted to do the right thing, so they wanted to check it all out, investigate it, and so they stopped the production.â
âBut as of now, weâre talking and weâre trying to make peace with each other⌠Weâre both professionals. We like each otherâs work⌠and if you canât really get along and trust each other, thereâs no point in going further working together or making a movie as well.â
In the past, Geena Davis and Lucy Liu complained about working with the comic actor on set as well.
Ironically, in 2018, Murray said âif people are monstrous, it eventually comes backâ in an interview on âSquawk Box.â âWe get justice, but we donât get it when we want it. âŚThis is unusual. People are getting their justice rather quickly.â
