Juvenile’s report to school resource officer leads to rape charge in Chemung County

A Chemung County man has been charged with rape after an investigation into allegations made by a juvenile.

The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office charged Warren F. Morrison, 49, of the Town of Ashland, with first-degree rape and said additional charges are expected.

On Monday, a female juvenile advised a school resource officer from the sheriff’s office civil/community services division that she and other females were being sexually assaulted by Morrison and had been over a number of years, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office criminal investigation division took over the investigation, working in conjunction with Chemung County Child Protective Services and the Chemung County Child Advocacy Center.

Following his arrest, Morrison was arraigned in Town of Ashland Court and committed to the Chemung County Jail with no bail.

The investigation into the allegations is continuing.
