Brush Fire Erupts Near San Diego Mall

A brush fire broke out on a hillside across from the Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego, California, on Tuesday, January 21.

By Tuesday afternoon, officials said the fire, dubbed the Friars Fire, had grown to 2 acres.

A mandatory evacuation order was issued for parts of the Mission Valley area that same day.
