Cam Ward sparks NFL draft buzz for one team in social media post

Cam Ward had Cleveland fans on the edge of their seats when he was seen in a video posted to Browns tight end David Njoku’s Instagram Story on Wednesday.

Ward, a top 2025 NFL Draft prospect and a former quarterback for the Miami Hurricanes, and Njoku appeared to run into each other at the Hurricanes’ training facility, as a trash can with the school’s “U” logo was seen in the clip.

The Browns, who have the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft, have an uncertain quarterback situation, as starter Deshaun Watson will miss significant time in 2025 due to re-rupturing his Achilles in January.

“There go that man right there, huh,” Njoku said as Ward walked through the door. “Come talk to me nicely.”

“Cleveland! Cleveland!” Ward replied.

Njoku and Ward both starred for the Hurricanes.

The Titans have the first pick in the draft, followed by the Browns and then the Giants at No. 3.

Former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, is the other top prospect at the position and there were rumors linking him to Cleveland earlier this week.

Ward is considered the favorite to be drafted by the Titans, though uncertainty still exists atop draft boards.

If the Browns were hell-bent on drafting Ward they could consider trading into the top spot, though that would come at the cost of more draft capital.

Ward, who was a Heisman Trophy finalist this past season, had the most passing touchdowns of any player in college football this season (39).

Ward could turn the tide for Cleveland after the Watson move has backfired spectacularly.

The veteran quarterback was seen training hard while in a medical boot at the team’s practice facility on Tuesday.

However, Watson has been mediocre at best since the Browns acquired him and gave him a fully guaranteed $230 million contract, and a quarterback of the future is needed regardless of his injury situation.

The Browns also acquired Kenny Pickett in a trade with the Eagles last week and hosted free agent Russell Wilson for a visit.

Cleveland finished with a 3-14 mark in 2024, tied with the Giants and Titans for the worst record in the league.
