Car crash closes section of OR-99 near I-5 interchange south of Eugene

A crash closed OR-99 near an Interstate 5 interchange south of Eugene Monday afternoon, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The highway was closed at milepost 1.5 due to a car crash near the intersection of OR-99 and West Peebles Road, according to an ODOT news release.

ODOT officials said the closure was likely to last into the Monday afternoon rush hour. Travelers were advised to slow down or use an alternate route while first responders work in the area.
