The District says the teacher received the proper safe crisis management training on appropriate techniques for restraining students safely, but they allegedly did not follow those required techniques during the incident. The teacher reportedly resigned on February 5.
The district says the Lower Paxton Township Police Department investigated the incident. The middle school’s principal, Frederick Porter Jr., also immediately notified the parents of the other students in the classroom where the incident occurred.
The district did not name the teacher and referred further questions to Lower Paxton Township Police.
