George Strait new music
On Sept. 6, 2024, Strait unveiled his 31st studio album âCowboys and Dreamers.â
The 13-track record doesnât really surprise but it doesnât need to. Thatâs not what The King of Country is about. Instead, he sticks to his familiar twang and revisits evergreen subject matter like family, friends, the good olâ days and cold brews.
Canât-miss cuts here include the plodding âCowboys and Dreamersâ that evokes a pleasant horseback ride, the Jimmy Buffett-esque ode to Miami âMIA in MIA,â melancholy âWish I Could Sayâ and stripped-down âRent,â which recently deceased Nashville singer Keith Gattis wrote. As a warning, Straitâs spoken tribute to the dearly departed preceding the track will surely tug at your heartstrings and may even make you well up.
On a lighter note, you wonât want to skip Straitâs rousing âHonky Tonk Hall of Fameâ duet with Stapleton, either. Itâs a true crowd-pleaser.
To hear for yourself, you can listen to âCowboys and Dreamersâ in full here.
