Coffee creamer recall in New York, more than 12 other states

More than 75,000 bottles of two coffee creamers sold in New York and more than a dozen other states have been recalled, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

Danone, the Colorado-based company that distributes the two products, started the recall of the Hazelnut and Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll International Delight flavors on Feb. 21 after receiving “complaints of spoilage and illness with the use of the products,” the FDA said on its website.

The website did not say how many people were sickened from the products, which have best-used-by dates in early July.

Danone North America said in a statement cited by USA TODAY and several other news outlets that the voluntary recall was out of an “abundance of caution.”

“International Delight is aware of a texture issue that some consumers have experienced with two of our creamers,” the statement read.

It also said: “We take every concern to heart, because this is not the quality we strive for.”

In total, about 30 states received the quart-sized bottles of the two creamers, including New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland and Georgia.
