Delays, cancellations reported on several branches of LIRR

The Long Island Rail Road was experiencing delays and cancellations across several of its branches due to signal and equipment problems, the MTA reported Thursday.

There were cancellations on the Babylon Branch due to signal trouble near Penn Station. The 7:09 a.m. train from Wantagh to Penn Station was canceled Thursday, as was an earlier eastbound train out of Penn Station.

On the Port Washington Branch, the 7:02 a.m. from Great Neck to Penn Station was canceled due to equipment trouble, the MTA reported.

Delays were reported on the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches, as well.

The 7:25 from Ronkonkoma to Greenport was operating 10-15 minutes late due to earlier equipment trouble. 

The 6:44 from Huntington to Penn Station was also running 10-15 minutes late, the MTA reported.
