Strong winds knock out power to 32,000 in central Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Sunday’s strong winds and rain have left thousands without power.

As of 9 p.m., 32,663 AEP customers and 4,344 South Central Power customers are without service.

AEP is reporting 8,420 Franklin County customers remain without power, with more than 5,500 of those reported in the East Weber Road area of North Linden. Delaware County is reporting more than 5,000 customers without service, while Perry County is reporting more than 3,400. More than 1,000 customers are without service in Fairfield and Licking counties as well.

South Central is reporting most of its outages are in Fairfield County with more than 2,100 customers affected.
