Troopers said a preliminary investigation shows the Chevrolet Camaro drove off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch. The vehicle continued on — striking a utility pole, several small trees, and overturning.
According to officials, a 17-year-old female from Deerfield was driving the Camaro with an 18-year-old male from Lake Milton as the front seat passenger. In the backseat was a 17-year-old female from Kent, Ohio, and a 16-year-old male from Palmyra.

“The 16-year-old rear-seat passenger succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” said troopers in the press release.
The three other teens were transported by EMS and treated for minor injuries.
At this time, speed does appear to be a contributing factor in this crash, said troopers.
