Fatal crash involving Orange County deputy shuts down northbound turnpike in Kissimmee

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike in Osceola County, troopers said.

The crash happened around 7:04 p.m. near mile marker 250 in Kissimmee.

Troopers said that the initial investigation show that the crash involved a Orange County Sheriff’s Office Ford F-150 and a Subaru BRZ.

The deputy was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Subaru was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

FHP did not release any other details regarding the crash.

All northbound lanes currently blocked while troopers investigate.

Traffic is being diverted at Osceola Parkway.
