Firefighters rescue goat from fifth-floor widow ledge in hair-raising video
You canβt bleat this.
A mischievous goat somehow got itself stuck on a fifth-floor window ledge in Spain, forcing firefighters to pull off hair-raising rescue β with the whole thing caught on video.
βAmong the services we provide are the rescue of animals at risk,β firefighters in Madrid said in Spanish in a Facebook post after last weekβs rescue. βIn this intervention we received a notice of a goat on the ledge of a 5th floor!
βOnce the rescue was over, [the Madrid Emergency Veterinary Service] was responsible for finding it a home,β firefighters said.
Firefighters hoofed it to the scene after getting reports of the stranded goat Wednesday.
Video footage showed them them climbing onto a balcony, with one firefighter reaching over to put out a container of water and several carrots to try to lure the scared goat back to safety.
The billy took the bait and was seen gingerly walking on the ledge of the balcony as spectators on the ground could be heard cheering far below β and while the rescuers stepped back into the vacant apartment to avoid spooking the already frightened farm animal.
βLeave her, leave her,β one firefighter is heard saying. βSheβs coming on her own. Leave her.β
The goat finally jumped onto an adjacent balcony, and a firefighter snuck up behind it, grabbing the scared kid and getting it safety to the ground, where animal rescue workers waited.
Itβs still a mystery where the goat came from and how it ended up in its predicament.
