Florida’s Bennett Anderson, Talia Baia reunite at Final Four for new interview
Bennett Anderson and Talia Baia reunited at the Final Four for another interview after their first exchange went viral.
Baia, a journalism student at Florida working for a local ESPN television affiliate in Gainesville, and the Florida reserve made headlines last week for an interview she did after Bennett scored off the bench during the Gators’ Sweet 16 win over Maryland last Thursday.
Anderson, who was sitting down during the chat, appeared to look smitten with Baia as fans on social media joked that “a young man fell in love.”
The two seemed to take everything – including their newfound fame – in stride as Florida gets ready to take on Auburn in the Final Four in San Antonio on Saturday night.
When asked about the viral moment and the attention it brought, Anderson called everything “pretty weird” before noting that he was “standing up this time so I can beat the allegations” in a clip Baia posted to her X account.
That made Baia laugh.
She also posted photos of her interviewing players from Duke and Auburn on her Instagram Stories.
All in all, Anderson seemed to get a kick out of the extra attention.
“It’s been pretty funny, I just gotta enjoy it for what it is,” the former walk-on said. “Only gonna be famous for like a week, so I’ll take it.”
The two are also business partners as Baia announced on TikTok earlier this week that she and Andersen are selling an “NIL shirt together” to “celebrate the viral moment.”
The shirt has a cartoon depiction of their initial interview with hearts coming out of Anderson’s eyes.
The shirt by Alma Mater Apparel is selling for $35.
The two could get some more camera time should Florida keep advancing.
The Gators are looking to win their first national championship since they won back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007.
