Georgia sorority girl Lily Stewart gave cops hilarious explanation for why she ran from them — and was arrested a second time
A Georgia sorority girl who went viral for her mugshot last week allegedly tried to run from police before her second arrest on Sunday because she was scared another run-in with cops would send her back to jail.
Lily Stewart ended up back in handcuffs — and with another glamorous mugshot — anyway.
The University of Georgia student, is facing a second round of charges, this time for obstruction of a law enforcement officer and loitering.
Stewart and three of her friends allegedly entered the UGA student center after hours around 3 a.m. on Sunday, setting off an alarm and alerting authorities, according to a report obtained by TMZ.
Police said they found a video showing the group entering the building without scanning a keycard. They quickly intercepted three of the students while they tried to flee, but Stewart managed to escape — for a few minutes.
Police found the panicked sorority girl hiding behind a brick wall near the football stadium. She allegedly tried to reason with them, according to the report.
“I didn’t want to get caught doing anything bad because I am out on bond right now,” Stewart told the police, according to TMZ.
“Was it the trespassing? Truly that was actually my fault,” police said she added.
The officers noted that they didn’t observe any signs of alcohol consumption while they were talking to Stewart. Another student in the group claimed that they were trying to get back to their sorority when they set off the alarm.
