Thieves steal Hellcat from Franklin County dealership lot, lead Troopers on chase on I-81

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) β€” State Police were led on a pursuit on I-81 by thieves in a stolen Dodge Charger Hellcat from a Franklin County dealership earlier in December, Troopers report.

The vehicle was stolen from Fitzgerald Toyota, located along Lincoln Way E, before the chase on Dec. 4, according to a news release from State Police at Chambersburg.

After the suspects got to the dealership, which was around 12:15 a.m., they searched the lot for vehicles to steal.

Troopers stated there were two alleged thieves dressed in all black, who were able to get into an orange Dodge Charger and tried to steal it but didn’t. They then went to a Hellcat, broke the rear passenger window and then drove it off the lot, Troopers report.

The stolen Hellcat was spotted traveling south on I-81 by Troopers who tried to perform a traffic stop, but instead were led on a pursuit, which was ended after the stolen vehicle crossed into Maryland, State Police say.
