Three killed in shooting near Butler High School in Shively
Shively police are investigating a fatal shooting near Butler High School that killed three people.
Police said the victims were two males and one female, all in their 20s.
“This is an exceedingly rare incident that happened in our city,” Shively Sgt. Jordan Brown, the department’s spokesperson, said of the triple fatality. “We’re now beginning to try to dissect exactly what happened and then from there we’ll determine who and what we’re looking for.”
Police responded to the shooting at the Williamsburg Apartment complex on Crums Lane, directly across from the high school, around 5:20 p.m. Across from the roped-off building, residents huddled around each other in the parking lot, waiting for information. Police said there is no suspect and they do not believe there is a threat to the community. They are still processing the scene.
