Over two years after the movie first premiered at Sundance Film Festival, the Jonathan Majors’s Magazine Dreams movie is finally opening in theaters.
Written and directed by Elijah Bynum, Magazine Dreams was acquired by Searchlight Pictures, after a successful Sundance premiere that had awards pundits speculating for a Majors award circuit. A few months later, Majors was arrested and charged with assault, harassment, and strangulation following a domestic dispute with former girlfriend Grace Jabbari. In December 2023, Majors was convicted by a court of law, for one count of reckless assault in the 3rd degree, and a charge of harassment as a violation. As a result of the controversy, the actor was dropped by his management company, and Searchlight returned the rights to the movie. Eventually, the rights were picked up again by Briarcliff Entertainment, the independent studio behind the recently Oscar-nominated film, The Apprentice.
Though the actor is technically still serving his 52-week sentence of a domestic violence intervention program and probation, Majors still posed for photographs at a Magazine Dreams screening in Los Angeles earlier this week. Is Magazine Dreams movie streaming on Netflix or Prime Video?
Magazine Dreams is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video right now. While it’s possible Magazine Dreams may stream on Netflix someday, it won’t be until after the theatrical run and digital release of the movie. Magazine Dreams is not a Netflix original—it’s a small, independent film being distributed by Briarcliff Entertainment. Another Briarcliff Entertainment movie, The Hill, did eventually stream on Netflix, about five months after it opened in theaters, so it is possible you’ll see Magazine Dreams on Netflix someday.
