Is Whoopi Goldberg Still On ‘The View’?

When the co-hosts of The View marched out to the Hot Topics table this morning, it was immediately obvious that something was off. And then it hit us — Whoopi Goldberg was nowhere to be found!

On today’s broadcast of the long-running daytime talk show, only Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines appeared on the panel. The last time we saw Goldberg was on Tuesday’s (Feb. 18) episode, during which she shockingly cut off Behar to correct her theory about stereotypes.

During a conversation about Saturday Night Live‘s 50th anniversary special, Behar argued that we should “show both sides” when it comes to “the whole business of stereotyping.” She pointed to the way the Italian and Polish kids in her neighborhood used to make fun of each other, noting that it’s “the same with every other group.”

“No, it’s not,” Goldberg fired back, before sternly adding, “Because we don’t get the benefit of all of the — that’s why we have Black History Month.”

So, why was Goldberg missing from The View today? And when will she be back? Keep reading for everything we know.

Why is Whoopi Goldberg not on The View today?

Goldberg was not on this morning’s episode of The View because she came down with a case of the flu. Behar addressed her absence at the start of the episode.

“Unfortunately, I know you’ll be unhappy, but Whoopi is not here with us. She has the flu!” Behar, who was filling in for Goldberg as moderator, said. “Feel better, Whoops! We miss you. Come back as soon as you can.”
