Jailed MP has prison sentence suspended

Cheshire MP Mike Amesbury, who repeatedly punched a constituent during a row in the street, has had his 10-week prison sentence suspended for two years.

The Runcorn and Helsby MP was sentenced and sent straight to jail on Monday at Chester Magistrates’ Court after admitting assault.
