Jet Passenger Films Aerial View of Wildfire Ripping Across LA Neighborhood

A passenger aboard a flight making its descent into Los Angeles International Airport captured dramatic footage of a wildfire tearing across an LA neighborhood on the evening of Tuesday, January 7.

Mark Viniello captured this video of the Palisades fire while aboard a United Airlines flight out of Denver, Colorado, that was originally headed to Hollywood Burbank Airport when it was diverted to LAX.

Several severe wildfires burned across the metro area on Tuesday, leading to widespread destruction and large-scale evacuations.

The devastating Palisades fire had expanded to over 2,900 acres by Wednesday morning; the Eaton fire had scorched 2,200 acres.
