Jordan Neely’s father and lawyer speak after verdict

On Monday, a jury acquitted Daniel Penny, 26-year-old former Marine, of all charges in connection with the chokehold death of a homeless man aboard a New York City subway car last year. Penny had been charged with second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide of 30-year-old Jordan Neely. Following the verdict, Donte Mills, a lawyer representing Neely’s family in a civil lawsuit filed last week, and Neely’s father addressed crowds gathered outside of the Manhattan courthouse. “Everybody that’s pissed off at this verdict, I challenge you to go outside today and help one person,” said Mills.
