Speeding driver caught traveling 104 mph in 45 zone in Sacramento
(FOX40.COM) — The California Highway Patrol is warning drivers about road safety after catching a driver going more than double the speed limit Sunday night.
“Last night, one of our graveyard officers stopped a vehicle traveling 104 mph in a 45 mph zone!” CHP said on social media. “Let that sink in, more than twice the speed limit!”

CHP emphasized the dangers of traveling so fast.
“There is never an excuse for driving at such dangerous speeds! Speeding isn’t just against the law, it puts lives at risk,” CHP said. “At such high speeds, reaction times are reduced, braking distance dramatically increase, and the chance of a fatal accident increases exponentially.”
CHP added, “We all share the road, and it’s our responsibility to ensure it’s safe for everyone— drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and cyclists alike. Please slow down, drive responsibly, and remember that speeding is not worth the risk.”
