Kelly Clarkson says she hasn’t heard of Meghan Markle’s Netflix show
“With Love, Meghan” hasn’t caught Kelly Clarkson’s attention.
The singer, 42, admitted that she has not heard about Meghan Markle’s Netflix show when Brian Tyree Henry gushed over the series on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” last week.
Henry, 43, explained that he and Elizabeth Olsen, who are both starring in the upcoming thriller “Panic Carefully,” bonded over both being fans of “With Love, Meghan.”
“Lizzie and I share the bond of watching television that’s crazy. And by crazy, we mean stuff that we just really like,” Henry shared. “So we’re in love with ‘With Love, Meghan’ right now.”
“What is that?” Clarkson asked with a confused look on her face.
“The new Meghan Markle slash Meghan, Duchess of Sussex show where she’s also like Martha Stewart now,” Henry responded, referencing the 43-year-old duchess’s recent last name change.
“And she’s created these things called flower sprinkles which you apparently can put on anything that you want to eat,” the “Atlanta” star continued. “So Lizzie and I were like, we need to get in the flower sprinkles game.”
“I would love this show!” Clarkson noted.
“Like, Meghan is onto something that we don’t know about!” Henry added.
Henry revealed that Olsen, 36, bought him a jar of flower sprinkles — which Markle is selling as part of her new lifestyle business, As Ever — when they wrapped production on their movie.
“And, not only that, — cause Meghan is bomb with calligraphy, Meghan does her own calligraphy — Lizzie had her husband to the calligraphy,” Henry said. “We’ve started like a flower sprinkles gang. We’re also trying to get on the show.”
“Meghan, get him on the show!” Clarkson yelled to the camera.
Henry went on, “Our movie is kind of about the apocalypse, So I’m like, ‘Lizzie, wouldn’t it be cool if me, you and Julia [Roberts] went on her show to do doomsday prep?’”
“Or like what would you prep for… you know how Martha did the dinners with people?” Clarkson said. “Or some of the meals? She should do a meal, and what would that meal be?”
“Flower sprinkles!” Henry quickly replied, as Clarkson laughed.
After the interview came, Markle shared the clip of Henry’s comments about her show on her Instagram Stories, and wrote, “Love this so much! Special delivery coming in hot for you two gems! @briantyreehenry & Lizzie Olsen.”
“Thanks for the love of @aseverofficial and WLM on @netflix,” the “Suits” alum added.
The eight-episode first season of “With Love, Meghan” features Markle in her kitchen joined by some of her famous friends, including Mindy Kaling and her former “Suits” co-star Abigail Spencer.
The show got negative reviews from critics and had lower viewership than 2022’s “Meghan & Harry.” Regardless, it was renewed for a second season. Netflix has a $100 million deal with Markle and Prince Harry and is also an investor in As Ever.
While Clarkson is unfamiliar with Markle’s show, the two actually share ironic history with each other.
In Feb. 2024, Spencer, 43, appeared on Clarkson’s talk show and revealed that Markle is a big fan of the “Stronger” singer.
“Meg says hello and that she loves you and that she voted for you on ‘American Idol,’” Spencer told Clarkson, adding that Markle “was just having dinner with Michael Buble, who said you are the greatest singer on earth.”
“This was unsolicited. She did not know I was coming on here,” Spencer stated. “We were just chatting and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to see Kelly next week,’ and she’s like, ‘I have a message.’”
