Long TSA security lines form at PDX, worrying weekend travelers
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) β Travelers at Portland International Airport are worried about making their flights on time due to long lines at check-in on Friday.
According to the FlyPDX Website, the current wait time for TSA check-in is 46 minutes for general and 15 minutes for precheck.
KOIN 6 News reporter Ariel Salk spoke to people waiting in line who said that they had been waiting for quite some time.
βWe got here three hours early and we were not expecting this,β Cornelia Seigneur said.
But other passengers said they were prepared for the long lines.
βWe just prepared ourselves just to make sure, because obviously the roads are a little hairy out there, so we just prepared ourselves and made sure we came in a little bit earlier,β Megan Armstrong said.

In the early afternoon, only two security checkpoints were open, leading to some of the backup, but the Port of Portland said it also had to do with low staffing due to the weather.
Port of Portland recommends arriving two hours ahead of flights to ensure enough time to check-in.
KOIN 6 has reached out to TSA for a comment but has not heard back yet.
On top of long lines, several flights were canceled Friday morning and more than 100 were canceled on Thursday amid the winter blast the region experienced over the last few days.
