Luis Torrens scratched from Mets lineup with forearm contusion
Luis Torrens was scratched from the Mets’ lineup with a right forearm contusion before Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays, the team announced.
He was replaced by Hayden Senger.
Torrens had started all but one of the Mets’ first seven games this season.
They’re already without Francisco Alvarez, sidelined since the spring with a fractured hamate bone in his left hand.
Alvarez has begun catching drills and was scheduled to hit outside for the first time prior to Saturday’s game, but inclement weather prevented that from happening.
After suffering the hamate injury, the Mets said Alvarez would miss 6-8 weeks from the time of the fracture, which occurred four weeks ago.
