Man, 27, stabbed to death on Long Island’s Blue Point beach

A 27-year-old man was found stabbed to death on a beach within a small, quiet Long Island waterfront community Tuesday morning, police said. 

Carlos Lopez, of Central Islip, was discovered around 6:30 a.m. with stab wounds to his body near the shore of a beach at the end of Blue Point Avenue in the quaint Suffolk County hamlet of Blue Point, cops said. 

A passerby spotted the body and notified police, authorities said.

Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the deadly stabbing. 

No information was immediately available on a suspect or motive.
