Milwaukee police arrest 39-year-old man in connection with four bank robberies in five days
Milwaukee-area authorities made an arrest Wednesday in connection with three bank robberies and an attempted bank robbery over the course of five days in Milwaukee County.
Criminal charges for the suspect, a 39-year-old man, will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
Since Jan. 30, there have been six total bank robberies in the Milwaukee area, police said. Milwaukee police are investigating them alongside the FBI, the Milwaukee Area Violent Crime Task Force (a cross agency investigative team) and Shorewood police.
The first of the robberies took place around 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the First Citizens Bank on West Silver Spring Drive, according to Milwaukee police.
Two days later, around noon on Feb. 1, the second robbery took place at the Associated Bank on North MLK Drive.
Two days after that, at 1:50 p.m. on Feb. 3, the suspect allegedly robbed the Associated Bank on East Wisconsin Avenue.
Just five minutes later, at 1:55 p.m., the suspect allegedly attempted to rob the BMO bank on North Water Street.
Milwaukee-area authorities are still seeking unknown suspects related to two other bank robberies, both of which took place Feb. 3.
An attempted robbery took place at the PNC on West Lisbon Avenue at 9:05 a.m., and the Wells Fargo on Hampton Avenue in Shorewood was robbed at 10:50 a.m.
