Rainforest Wild Asia, the first phase of Singapore’s fifth zoological park, is set to open its doors on 12 March.
Tickets for the new wildlife park went on sale on Wednesday (12 February) and discounted tickets are available for local residents until 31 March, according to Mandai Wildlife Group.
Admissions rates for local residents until 31 March are $33 for an adult and $21 per child (ages 3-12) while seniors aged 60 and above will be charged $20. From 1 April, the admission rates are $43 for an adult and $31 for a child – senior citizen prices will remain at $20.
Among the features of Rainforest Wild Asia to look forward to include a series of Ranger Talks, held throughout key zones of the park such as The Karsts, Forest Floor and Watering Hole.
For the more adventurous there’s also a Canopy Jump, where you step off a 13- or 20-metre platform for a simulated free fall. And also something the park calls a Critter Crawl which takes you through a 60-metre cave tunnel where you’ll need to crawl through darkness while manoeuvring around the features of the cave.
On the topic of caves, one feature to definitely look out for will be Cavern Restaurant which is set to be Singapore’s first and only restaurant in a cave setting. The restaurant is inspired by Malaysia’s Mulu Caves and is operated by Tunglok Group.
