Motorists asked to avoid area of Hillside and Bell after fatal crash Monday

The Amarillo Police Department issued a traffic advisory Monday afternoon after a fatal crash.

APD’s traffic investigation unit is working at the scene of a fatal accident in the 5300 block of Hillside at Bell Street, and asked people to avoid the area.

The eastbound lanes of Hillside “are completely closed for several blocks. We are asking that you find an alternative route and allow our officers to work to investigate and clear the scene. We will provide an update when the street has been reopened,” APD said.
