Newsday’s top 10 Long Island boys golfers for spring 2025

Newsday’s annual list, in alphabetical order, of Long Island’s top boys golfers as the Long Island championship, which includes all schools regardless of which season they compete in, draws nearer. All stats are from their last completed season unless otherwise noted.
Nassau schools in Conferences IV, V and VI compete in the fall season while Conferences I, II and III compete in the spring. All Suffolk schools compete in the fall. Catholic schools compete in the spring.
Jacob Anderson, St. Anthony’s, Jr.
Anderson averaged 3.5 strokes over par last year with an 8-1 record. He finished fourth in the state CHSAA championship with a 2-over par 73.
Colby Baran, Riverhead, Jr.
Baran finished third at the Suffolk individual championship in October with a two-day score of 151 (72-Â 79).
Zach Berger, Westhampton, Jr.
Berger was crowned the Suffolk individual champion when he carded a two-day score of 6-under par 140.
Brodie Douglas, Northport, Sr.
Douglas’ 1-under par 36 at the team championship in November helped Northport to its first Suffolk crown since 2017. Douglas, an individual state qualifier, finished fourth (76-76, 152) in the Suffolk individual championship.

Evan Fulgieri, Manhasset, Sr.
Fulgieri finished tied for third at the Nassau individual championship with a 71-75 for a 146. He also finished tied for 33rd at the state championship after shooting a 10-over par 154.
Owen Jessop, Westhampton, Sr.
Jessop was the Suffolk individual runner-up with a two-day score of 3-over par 149.
Alessandro Maltese, Chaminade, Jr.
Maltese finished fifth at the state CHSAA championship and eighth at the state Federation championship.
Nick Prosa, St. Anthony’s, Sr.
The four-year player averaged three strokes over par last year as he finished 7-1 in the regular season. Prosa tied for second with a 3-over par 75 at the NSCHSAA championship.
Dylan Tong, Syosset, Jr.
Tong finished second at the Nassau individual championship with scores of 69-74 for a 143.
Bryan Zhao, Jericho, Sr.
Zhao finished fourth at the individual championship with a 147 and sixth at the state championship with a 2-under par 142.
