Nick Sirianni receives yellow Gatorade shower before winning Super Bowl 2025
It’s glory for the Eagles, with the ticker tape just trickling down from the rafters and head coach Nick Sirianni receiving the infamous Gatorade shower.
The Gatorade color that landed on the winning coach was yellow (technically the option was yellow/green), which emerged as the odds favorite late in the week.
Sunday’s game got so out of hand in their 40-22 win that the Eagles dumped the Gatorade on their coach with a little less than three minutes remaining in the game.
Bettors who cashed their fun tickets in select states surely enjoyed watching the closing moments of the Fox broadcast.
In years past, the television broadcast has missed the moment but not this year — especially since the game turned into a blowout and it happened well before the buzzer hit zero.
ESPN BET’s lead oddsmaker Adrian Horton previously told The Post that his favorite bet to price was Gatorade color because, in theory, it is a total guess.
However, it’s not uncommon to see odds get steamed as game time approaches and oddsmakers keep a close eye on those shifting numbers.
“Leading into Sunday, there will be a period of time with people talking about it on X and people pretending to know what it is going to be and which color will be touted,” Horton said. “It gathers momentum, and we’ll certainly see an influx of that, and we will be reacting to that pretty quickly.”
This year, there was some shifting with odds moving Friday.
Purple emerged as the early-week betting favorite before yellow/green became the favorite, bumping purple to the secondary option.
The “Water/clear” option had the worst odds.
Yellow being the Gatorade color of choice ended a back-to-back run by purple, and the color had also been used by the Eagles during their last Super Bowl triumph in 2018.
