No students seriously injured in Bastrop school bus crash Friday morning

A Bastrop school district bus carrying 44 students was involved in a crash early Friday, but no one on board was seriously injured, according to a statement from the school district.

The wreck happened at 7 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 71 and Blue Flame Road.

Some students were transported to the hospital but most were taken to campus after being evaluated by emergency personnel, according to the district.

“We would like to express our deep appreciation to first responders and law enforcement who were on the scene so quickly giving care to all those involved,” the district said in a statement.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the wreck.
